| Lance Sims has been drawing and painting since his childhood in Devon, Pennsylvania.
Educated at Dartmouth College and the University of Pennsylvania in the sixties, he
moved to Santa Cruz in 1973.
Lance's colorful paintings in oil capture the vitality of his subjects. His work reveals his
innate playfulness and his fascination of the relationship between line and volume. He is
equally skillful depicting the sun-drenched landscapes of the south of France as he is the
coast of California.
